Test information

Uric acid is a waste product of the metabolism of nucleic acids and purines in the body. The latter are formed mainly in the process of natural cell death, a small amount enters the body with food (red meat, fish, legumes, wine, beer). Normally, uric acid is excreted from the body, but in case of kidney dysfunction and irrational nutrition, its excess is converted into urate crystals, which in turn are deposited in the joints, kidneys and subcutaneous tissue. This process is the basis of such a disease as gout.

It is not always necessary to take medication when the uric acid level exceeds the norm. Sometimes the reason for the increase is a diet consisting of foods rich in purines (grapes, legumes, sorrel, tomatoes), as well as intense physical activity.
